[Tips for Appearance Score:] Wear school colors when trying out. Go get a shirt, shorts, and spandex from either the school or a local store.

Why do this? You need to look the part and you don't want to come into tryouts wearing an old T-shirt and/or an opposing teams Tee. This will NOT only give you a better APPEARANCE score, but will also make the judges visually see that you could blend into the team. Judges in most instances will judge slightly better someone they feel had potential and looks like could do it.
