How to run a camp
Running a Camp is in my opinion the best cheerleading fundraiser there is. Here are some tips to help you start/run your camp:

  1. Decide wisely on a camp - There are many types of camps you can run. Determine what there is a need for, take a look at the type of staff that you will have, and decide.
  2. Advertise - Send fliers to local schools and set up a website for more information.
  3. Price competitively - Set up a price lower than the BIG companies since you don't have staffing costs.
  4. Make sure have waivers for them to sign - Just in case there is an injury.
  5. Medical Plan - Make sure you have a plan in case some one gets hurt.
  6. Find a place to hold it - Make sure you have a place with proper safety mats and high ceilings.
  7. Good material - Try to come up with good and creative material. It will make the camp more fun for those involved.
  8. Be organized - Have a schedule and keep to it.
  9. Be able to accomodate - Try to give the teams what they want as long as it can be managed in the time frame.
  10. Good spotting - Teach the instructors to help the stunts by having hands on spotting. More stunts will hit, less people will get hurt, and you will be able to move on faster.
  11. Teach instructors - Teach your team how to be instructors. They need to be confident, heard, and to the point.
  12. Accept feedback - To make your camp better in the future.
