" Competition Routine Tip 10:
No BIG Breaks
"

Cheerwiz.com

Make sure when setting up the routine there are NO BIG Breaks. The routine should flow with a lot of action going on continuously. When you give your team extra time to breath it cuts the flow of your routine, and does not look right. This will eventually give you a lower score.

How to make an action packed routine while still allowing breathing time?!?! Here are some tips:

1.) Rotate spots - Don't always place your strongest people in the main roles. Give them easy tasks like spotting, toe pitching, and/or bracing in order to give them extra breathing time.
2.) Cheer - Use the cheer as a resting period. Give your tired members a break with sign holding, motions, or megaphones.
3.) Alternate - Alternate skills to give the team little breaks, so they are not rushed during the routine. (i.e. as a tumbling pass ends, prepare/load and throw a basket. As the tumblers wait for the basket to catch they are able to grab a couple of free seconds of breathing time.)

Next Tip: Not too rushed
