" Competition Routine Tip 5:
Where's the Cheer
"

Cheerwiz.com

During competition routines you are usually required to do a CHEER. This is NOT a BAD thing. The Cheer can be used on your teams behalf to help them catch their breath and save their energy for the rest of the routine. Placement of the Cheer is up to you and your team so here are some things you might want to think of.

The Cheer can be placed at the beginning, middle, or end of a routine. Most teams place it in the middle to allow their team to catch their breath halfway, then go strong to the end. By placing it at the end it allows the team to do their easier stunts at the end, but usually does NOT a give a strong ending. By placing it in the begining it gets the cheer out of the way so that you can finish strong with an action packed second half.

It's really up to you and your team, which you prefer. The middle is the choice of preference, but some teams have taken a liking to the other 2.
