Redbird pyramid

College Pyramids are not as restricted as High School Pyramids and rightfully so.  You are able to have pyramid up to 2 and a half people high.  Which means that you can have a person standing on top of another person and a 3rd person on top of the middle flier.  There are some gray areas of question when it comes to answering what is 2 1/2 high.  One example is a 211 pyramid which is any COED extended stunt on top of a double thigh stand.  Some people say it is 3 high while others insist that it is only 2 1/2 people high.  Just keep this in mind when working on your college pyramids.  Here are some examples of College Pyramids:

221 -

You need 8 people (3 fliers, 4 bases, and 1 spot extra).

Start with 2 Toss shoulders on the outsides and a toe pitch in the middle. The toe pitch should have a toe pitcher in the front, a tosser in the back, and a flier in the middle (you should practice your toe pitch before you begin).  The flier needs to put her right foot in the toe pitchers hands (which should be a right over left grip), and grab the wrists of the tosser behind her.  On count let the flier jumps off of the ground, keeps her chin slightly tucked, chest up, and slightly gets up and over the toe pitcher in the front. Toe pitcher needs to wait for this moment or the flier will never be able to extend her leg fully.  Toe pitcher needs to slowing lift until half-way through the toss when he should explode through the right leg of the flier (explode by keeping your arms flexed, using your legs for power, then push straight up to an extended position), then finish by keeping your arms straight up in order make sure the toss was complete and to catch the flier in case she falls. The tosser will toss the flier slightly forward to help her get up and over.  The flier needs to make sure that she is able to straighten her leg, then lift her chin, keep her arms to her side, feet placed at shoulder with, hollow out through the mid-section and squeeze as tight as she can.  Flier will ride up and the base fliers will catch her feet (Side bases need to bend their inside arm at the elbow with palms/forearms up, and grab above the knee and to the inside of the thigh with the outside arm).  Base fliers need to make sure that they need to go for the fliers feet and not just expect them to land on their forearms. Top flier hit a Hi-V for the hit.
