"3 Fun team building Cheer Games"
1.) Trusting games - Have 1 girl (the flier) stand in the middle and have all the other girls scoot into a tight circle with their feet bent in front of them. The girls/guys in the circle need to have their arms straight up towards the girl (the flier) in the middle. The girl in the middle (the flier) needs to cross her arms and remain tight and stiff as a board. Now have the flier fall (keeping her feet on the ground). The bases in the circle need to make sure that the flier does not fall and stand her up as much as possible. NOTE: Have 1 person (the coach) stand outside of the circle as a safety spot. Just in case something happens. 2.) Chicken on a henhouse - Pair the team off in pairs of 2. Make 2 circles; one on the inside and the other on the outside. Start the music and have the circles walk in opposite directions. When you stop the music call one of the skills listed below. The last team to complete the skill is out. Do this until there is a winner. Skills: chicken in henhouse - have one person on their hands and knees and have the other get on their back. bunkbeds - one person lay on their back with their arms straight up. Have the other person place their hands on their partner’s shins, and lift their legs up to their partner’s hands. indian in tepee - have one person stand with there legs apart and their hands together above their head. Then have the other person slide under their partner's legs. monkey on my back - have one person jump on their partners back, while the other grabs their legs to support them. lovers leap - have a person jump into their partners arms (into a cradle position.) fountain - Have both partners face towards each other and hook their right arms and right legs. Then have them place their left hand in the air as to make a fountain position. NOTE: have them practice each skill with their partner before the game starts. 3.) Jumping game - Make a circle. Start a rhythm by having everyone hit their thighs with both hands, next clap, then snap, and back to clap. Continue this over and over again ("thigh", "clap", "snap", "clap", "thigh", "clap", "snap", "clap", "thigh", etc.). Now have someone start by saying, "I jump, you jump, better than (someone's name) jump". So when you hit your thighs you will say "I". When you clap, you say "jump". When you snap your say "You", and so on. This person will place the name of someone else on the team, and that person will have to continue the rhythm. Continue this until someone screws up. That person will have to stand in the center of the circle and do a jump in front of everyone. Have fun at your next practice!!!
