"Rolling your hips "

In order to get a beautiful high and extended toe touch on the ground OR in a basket, you need to Roll your Hips.

How do I roll my hips? When you bring your legs up for a toe touch many cheerleaders think about kicking them up to your hands then bringing them down. This is WRONG. As you kick your feet/legs up, you need to roll them from your hip. This will allow you to kick your legs behind your arms and make them higher.

What are some exercises? The best exercise is to lay on the ground with your hands under your buttocks and your body straight. When ready use your abs to lift/pike your legs straight up to you. As your legs are lifted, begin to separate them from one another and rotate them at the hips. Continue to lift them and your lower back off of the ground until your toes actually hit the ground on each side of your head. Now bring them back down for the finish. Do this about 8-10 times in a row to get a good feel for it.
