"Difference between guiding and throwing the flier"

Base's toss fliers into the air, stunts, pyramids, and transitions all of the time. So what is the difference between throwing and actually guiding the flier?

When you are throwing the flier in the air, you are trying to get the most height out of your toss by still maintaining some kind of control of the flier. This is good for toss stunts, and baskets.

Guiding is used more when toss the flier up to pyramids. When you guide the flier, then you are trying to toss the flier in a specific spot in the pyramid. Kind of like trying to shoot a ball into a basket.

Always remember with both that you need to leave your arms up after the toss, use your legs, and spot the flier at all times for the flier's safety.
