Here are some Tips on how to be a good instructor.

.) Speak up - Make sure they can hear you.

.) Be clear - Don't mumble Or the cheerleaders will have a hard time listening, understanding, and respecting you.

.) Be Precise - Don't be vague in your instructions. Tell them exactly how to pull/lift something, and DONT't just say things like "Do this!" Or "Do that!".

.) Don't be long-winded - If you talk for too long, then you will just get ingnored.

.) Lay down the law - Make sure you are stern up front, and explain that they need to be quiet while you speak and while they perform their skills. For safety reasons.

.) Be honest - If you don't know something, then don't pretend like you do know it. They will see right through you.

.) Eye contact - Look in their eyes when you talk. You will get their attention, and they will tend to believe more in what you have to say.

.) Hands on - Don't just stand back and tell them what to do, it becomes easier if you place them in position (i.e. Motions, technical issues, and spotting).

.) Tell them "Why" - Let them know why they need to do things a certain way. It will alleviate complaining due to them NOT understanding why you are correcting them.

.) Demonstrate - If you can demonstrate the skill, then you will have their respect. If you are incapable of doing the skill, then don't show them your weakness by doing the skill poorly.

.) Repetative - Say things in repetition. They will tend to pick up on what you are saying more.

.) Creative - Give them something NEW and creative. It will make them enjoy what they are learning.

.) Age - Never tell your age. You may be closer in age to the cheerleaders than they realize.

.) Fun - Always try to make it fun. They may have had to raise this money Or work hard for it, so make this experience a good one.
