"Matrix Tips"

A "Matrix" is a transitional stunt that can be done in a variety of ways. It is done by have the flier start in a prep and as she is lifted the flier will lift her leg up and over so it's placed in front. Here are some Matrix tips to help you out and make them look clean:

1.) Ride up - Make sure you ride up a if you were doing an elevator. Don't forget to give a good push off.

2.) Don't lean into it - Some fliers think they have to lean forward into the lift. Don't do this or you will get out of placement and you will cause your pod to mover forward or worse fall.

3.) Lifting leg - Lift your leg with your hip flexors. The same as you would for a toe touch.

4.) Don't lift your leg too early - If you lift your leg too early it will take away from your jump.

5.) Leg to the side - So you don't hit your base.

6.) Don't swing your leg - If you try to use your body to swing your leg up, then you are going to make it more difficult for you bases, it will look bad, and it could cause you to fall.

7.) Leg Straight - Keep your leg straight at all times. Don't bend it!

8.) Toe pointed - Make sure you toe is pointed at all times.

9.) Arm placement - After you push off, make sure you place your arms to your side as though you were cleaning. You will then release them for the regrab.

10.) Balance - Keep your head/chest up, and keep your weight on the inside of your foot that you are standing on.

11.) Leg in front - Make sure your leg is straight out to the front. Don't dangle your leg.

NOTE:Matrixes can be done by facing straight ahead at all times OR at a 1/2 turn for a more visual effect!
