"Tips for your Vaults"

Vaults are a great way to get a reaction out of your audience. Here are a few tips to help your Vaults:

1.) Timing - Make sure everyone concentrates on their timing. Some vaults will require this more than others.

2.) Ride hips - The flier needs to ride her hips up so that she can get her lower body up and over her head.

3.) Toes up - Ther flier needs to keep lifting up with her toes. This will help get her feet up and over for the catch.

4.) How to throw - The bases need to really concentrate more on throwing up and just slightly forward. If the bases throw too much forward, then they will be throwing into the mount.

5.) Keep contact - The flier needs to maintain contact through the vault, so that she can make sure that her toes get over before she releases.

6.) When to release - The flier should release once she feels her toes have gone past vertical. She should then give a good shrug with her shoulders to get some separation and a decent push off.

6.) How to cradle - To cradle the flier will need to tuck her chin, and hollow out her shoulders to help get her upper body around. Then she needs to immediately pike and catch for the cradle.
NOTE:The fliers legs are going to be really heavy for the catch, so make sure she really concentrates on the pike for the cradle.
