" Tips to help your Tarzans!"
Cheerwiz.com
.
The Tarzan is a great and fun transition that can be done by COED OR All-girl teams. Here are some tips to help:
1.) Flier tip 1 - Push down through the bases arms and hold your weight up.
2.) Flier tip 2 - Stay on the balls of your feet.
3.) Flier tip 3 - For the pop up give a good shrug with your shoulders and lift up with your chest/head.
4.) Flier tip 4 - Don't don't off of your base's shoulders, it should be a combination of push off, lifting up, and standing up that will get you up.
5.) Base tip 1 - Resist through your arms to keep control of the flier and keep her weight off your shoulder.
6.) Base tip 2 - Don't loose your position. Even if the flier's weight is on 1 shoulder, don't let that push you out of position. Keep a steady base so you can pop her up to the stunt easier.
7.) Base tip 3 - Use your legs and give a good shrug. Most bases will try to pop the flier on using their shoulders alone, but this is too difficult.
8.) Base tip 4 - Spot the flier's foot/feet after you pop, so you can catch and finish.
9.) Spotter(all-girl) tip 1 - Lift up on the flier's feet as they rest on the base's shoulder. It will make it easier for them.
10.) Spotter(all-girl) tip 2 - For the pop, make sure you follow the base/flier then guide the flier up. Hold the flier into position above the base, so the base can spot for her feet and finish the stunt.
