"Rewind Tips for All-girl and COED"
Cheerwiz.com
.
A Rewind is an exciting and difficult stunt that can be done with All-girl and COED teams. It involves the flier doing a backflip during the toss and having her feet caught at the top. Here are are some tips to make your rewinds hit!:
1.) Ride up (flier) - Take your back tuck up, and DON'T throwing it back into the base.
2.) See the base (flier) - As you come around, try to see the base. When you see the base, this will let you know when you need to lift up with your chest to open up your tuck and hit your stunt.
3.) Keep your feet together (flier) - So the base can catch your feet easier.
4.) Don't open too early (flier) - If you open your tuck early, then you will not get all the way around.
5.) Lift up with your chest (flier) - Don't stomp your feet on the bases hands, instead think about lifting up with your chest and lifting up with your head to get into position .
6.) Squeeze her abs (flier)- Make sure your hips/weight don't fall forward. Make sure you are squeezing your abs (as well as lifting up) to help stop your forward movement.
7.) Push straight up (base)- For the toss make sure your are pushing the flier's hips straight up, don't flick her back OR she will go over your head.
8.) Catch high (base)- Try to catch the flier high, don't wait for the last moment OR she might over rotate back into you.
9.) Allow the flier to get her tuck around (base)- If you catch too early (before the flier' tuck gets around), then the flier's weight will be forward and she will fall.
