"All-Star vs High School
Questions to ask yourself?!?"

A couple of years ago you had to go to a bigger city to be apart of an All-Star Cheerleading team. Now it is becoming easier to find cheerleading All-Star teams in your area. So how are you going to decide between being on an All-Star team OR your high school team. Here are a few questions you need to ask yourself:

1.) Why do you want to cheer? First you need to find out the underlying reason why you want to cheer. Do you want to be on the sidelines for your school's team, do you want to compete, do you want to decorate floats, or do you want to learn advanced skills. There are so many questions that you need to ask yourself and apply them to your decision.

2.) How much time are you willing to put into it? Most teams (All-Star & High School) require multiple practices every week. Are you ready for that committment.

3.) What will you get out of either one? Does one or both compete? Is this something that you are looking for? These are questions among others that you you probably need answered before you commit to one or the other.

4.) How much money are you willing to spend? Both cost money depending on how invovled the team is. An All-Star Team can get really expensive with gym fees, competition fees, uniforms, practices, etc. Be sure your parents are ready for the bill.

5.) What will be your role on the team? Do you know if you will be a flier, a base, a spotter, or a backup. Understand what role you will possibly be playing in advance for both. It could make a BIG difference in your decision.

6.) Are you being effected by outside sources? Just because your friends are doing it does not necessarily mean that you need to do it. Both can take large amounts of time out of your schedule so do not base you decision on outside sources.

I hope this helps with your decision!
