"Avoid bumping heads on the cradle"

Cheerwiz.com

It's very common for bases to bump their heads when catching a flier in a cradle. Here are a couple of tips to avoid it:

1.) Catch high to slow the flier's momentum down. You may want to jump up for the flier to help.
2.) Step in and catch the flier close, NOT far away.
3.) Catch with your legs NOT your back. This will help your absorb the catch.
4.) (fliers) Catch yourself so there is NOT as much weight for the base(s) to catch.
5.) Keep your back straight.
6.) Keep your head up. (NOT too forward or you might bump heads, and not too back OR your might get hit by the flier.
