"Bases avoid getting hit on a cradle"

When catching a cradle, have you every been hit in the face. Well here are some ways to avoid this:

1.) Eyes open - So you can see the flier and where her elbow is.
2.) (flier) Palms forward - If her arm hits your head, then it will fold into place rather than being an elbow to the head.
3.) Catch close - So your head is in close and avoids being hit.
4.) Head to the front - (not recommended) This is good to use if you have a NEW flier. When catching, lean your head to the front to avoid the arm all together. This makes catching a little more difficult, but if you are an experienced base, are strong enough, and want to avoid getting hit while the flier is learning then try this.
5.) Don't place your head back - This will place your head in direct alignment with the flier's elbow, which you do not want.
