"10 Tips to remain in shape over Xmas"

pictures by Cheerwiz.com

Christmas is coming up and many people lose touch when it comes to staying in shape during the holidays. Here are some easy ways to maintain your cheerleading endurance. Again this is not a workout plan but a way to enjoy the holidays yet still be ready to come back and practice the Monday after!!! Here are 10 tips:

1.) Eat in moderation. You do not have to eat what you see.

2.) Do some situps while you lay on the floor.

3.) Stretch out while you sit there. Pull some stretches or just sit there and stretch in a straddle position.

4.) Go for a walk outside. Try to get out of the house and walk a couple blocks. Remember - you will burn more calories if you get your heart rate up.

5.) Eat smart - don't eat up to 2-3 hours before bedtime, and watch those desserts. The calories are awful. You can have some, but try to stay away from the seconds.

6.) Get up and decorate. This is the time to decorate for X-mas, so get up and help around the house. Make a point to run up those stairs over and over again! Try to stay up on your feet and remain active.

7.) Work on your stunting?!?! For fliers,...find something to balance on. Then work on your stunts. Pull stretches, arabesques, scorpions, bow n arrows, etc. Commit to each stunt and hold them for 20 seconds. It's fun and can burn minimal calories.

8.) Work your back bends and sphinx stretches. These will stretch out your abs and back to help maintain flexibility in your mid-section.

9.) Weight train in your family room. Do lunges to work your legs, do calf raises for your calves, lean backwards on a couch and work your triceps, and do pushups for your chest. DO 10 reps 3 times an exercise.

10.) Play - play with your sisters, brother, nephews, etc. Get on the floor and roll around with them OR chase after them in the Living room. This will get your heart-rate up and be a fun way to work out.
