"Tips to help your shoulder stands"

It is common for experienced cheerleaders both COED and all-girl to struggle with shoulderstands. Placement, chemistry, and stregnth all have something to do with it.

Here are some tips to help:

1.) Legs locked - Make sure your legs are locked which will make you sturdy and move around less.

2.) Placement of feet - Think about squeezing your ankles together rather than just your feet.

3.) Don't dig in - Don't dig your soles into the base's neck. It will make it more difficult for the base to hold you.

4.) Base secure - The Base needs to have a firm grip on your calves and squeeze you securely.

5.) Base not pulling forward - Make sure your base is not squeezing you so much that your legs are bending and it's pulling you forward.

6.) Base strong enough - Do they have enough stregnth to hold the shoulder stand. Test this first will proper spotting.
