" Load your basket correctly"

Keep an eye on how you are loading your baskets. If your load is off it could mess up your timing, your bases timing, and limit the height of your basket. Here are some things to remember for the bases, spotter, and flier to help when loading a basket:

1.) Good jump (flier)- You must give a good jump up into the basket. It will give you time to see the basket, help you with your placement, and give time for the bases to meet your feet.

2.) Hold yourself (flier)- Push straight down through the bases' shoulders and hold yourself and your weight up. It will take your weight off the bases' hands and they will be able to throw you higher.

3.) Placement of feet (flier)- Stand on the balls of your feet, NOT your toes OR heels.

4.) Aligment (flier)- Keep your shoulders, knees, and toes all in line for the placement.

5.) Meet the flier (bases)- As the flier jumps in, meet her feet with your hands. It will improve your timing and give the flier better placement.

6.) Level out (bases)- Make sure both bases try to bend down so their shoulders are near the same height. It makes it easier for a flier to load a basket when the bases' shoulders are level.

7.) Help out (spotter)- Help lift up the flier and slightly guide her into the basket. It will help the flier use less energy and she gets into the basket.

8.) Don't help too much (spotter)- When spotters help out too much, they end up pushing the flier forward and they loose their hips. This makes the flier uncomfortable in the basket and gives her poor placement.
