"5 Tips for the HITCHEE"
Cheerwiz.com
The "Hitchee" is the flier that the other fliers hitch to. Though it seems easy, there are some things that you need to remember when being a "Hitchee". Here are some tips:
1.) Lightly grab - When a flier hitches to you, make sure you grab lightly. If you grab too hard, then you restrict the flier from balancing herself.
2.) Support - When the fliers hitches to you made sure your hand is sturdy/solid. The fliers cannot see where they are hitching so by feeling that the hitch has been made will make it easier for the fliers hitching.
3.) Reach - If the flier hitches in front of you. Reach out and grab (lightly) the foot. The hitch is just and effect for the pyramid and if you don't try to get the foot then your pyramid looks incomplete. NOTE: Again , the fliers at times can NOT see who they are hitching to so you (the hitchee) must make that adjustment and grab (lightly) their feet.
4.) Let Go - If a flier falls, then you must let go of her foot immediately. If you don't then it could flip the flier and she could seriously hurt herself.
5.) DON'T pull and adjust her foot - If the flier's foot is NOT in the correct position don't place it to the right place. By yanking and pulling the fliers foot into the correct position you could cause the flier and the pyramid to fall. NOTE: little adjustments can be made, but only through practice and knowing the flier you are hitching with.
