"6 Tips to be a solid pyramid base!"

Cheerwiz.com

1.) Solid Stance - Usually shoulder width apart is the proper technique, but there are exceptions depending on the pyramid.  Just make sure your legs are NOT too wide or too narrow.

2.) Flex and squeeze - If you have the flier's foot, calf, toe, or thigh just make sure you have a solid grip to make the flier feel more comfortable.

3.) Correct grab - Make sure your grab is correct.  If you give the flier too much toe or heel, then she will fall and the pyramid will come down.

4.) Timing - When you and the flier lift up for the pyramid, timing is everything.  The flier needs to be able to get up and over you, so if you are up too fast then the flier will NOT go up at all.

5.) Dismount - Make sure the dismount is strong and controlled.

6.) Safety - If for any reason the pyramid comes down, make sure you have the flier's safety as your first priority. Let go of the flier's feet and focus on her/his head, neck, and back.
