"Tips for a Higher Toss"

Cheerwiz.com

1.) Finish it - In both skills make sure your arms are extended after the toss and leave them up pointing straight at the flier as she comes down. Do not toss your arms out and away from the flier.

2.) "Loose" NOT "tight" - You want to remain loose through your arms and hands. If you are tight you will lose the advantage of your flexibility and the timing of your toss.

3.) Use your legs - Your legs are the strongest muscle in your body so use them. Do not rely on your upper body to do the work, because it's not going to happen.

4.) Fliers need to hold themselves up and NOT rely on the base(s) to do the work for them. For the basket toss, hold your self up on the bases shoulders and lift your weight off of them. For COED stunting, resist through the base's wrists.

5.) Timing and technique - Once you get the timing and technique down with everyone involved, your baskets and COED stunts will go higher. In the beginning you have a tendency to fight against one another's timing and it causes the cheer skill to be lower.
